OUR 2011 SHOW

2011 will see the 90th anniversary of the formation of our society in 1921: to celebrate this major event in Dunmow's amateur musical theatre history, we have been granted a licence to perform the musical "The Likes of Us" – the first ever collaboration in 1965 between Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice.

We'll soon be auditioning for our next production and previous experience is useful but not required, so if you'd like to join us, just download and complete an application form. Even if you're not keen to actually appear on stage, we're always looking for people to help backstage as well.

HISTORY OF OUR GROUP

From the beginning, the Society concentrated mainly on light opera and has always been Dunmow's source of Musical Theatre. The annual shows have always been staged around Easter time and, in the 1920s, were mostly of Gilbert & Sullivan Operettas, the first being "HMS Pinafore" presented in the Spring of 1922.
